Welcome to my Breakaway Movement review. Is this MLM a legit opportunity that can help you start an online business or just another pyramid scheme that you should avoid?
Here’s what you need to know. There are a bunch of platforms out there similar to Breakaway Movement, with one thing in common. They are focused on getting people to buy expensive water filters.
The business opportunity that you are presented with is all about recruiting others into this platform and getting them to buy the Kangen Enagic water filters.
You can easily come across promoters of this MLM that praise it like it’s the best thing that ever happened to them.
That’s why I would like to point out that I’m not affiliated with Breakaway Movement or Kangen Enagic, so don’t expect a thousand promises and shiny bribes designed to convince you to join this online business opportunity.
Instead, I will give you my unbiased and transparent opinion so that you know what you’re really getting into here.
Ready? Let’s get started…

Summary: Breakaway Movement is an MLM platform that offers educational content about social media marketing, business basics, motivational videos, and more.
The entire structure of this membership website is to get you hooked up into the ”entrepreneurial lifestyle” which apparently means sipping pina Coladas on a Hawaiian beach.
When you become a member, you will be encouraged to participate in a ”discovery call” which is a massive pitch about how you can start living the lifestyle that you deserve, as long as you can get others to join Breakaway Movement and you buy one of their purifying water machines, which will cost you ten thousand dollars.
If you’re good at selling expensive stuff and don’t mind recruiting others into the platform, then you have a chance of making money online with them.
However, the investment that you have to make before you get the chance to promote Breakaway Movement to others is way too big for my taste, which is why I can’t say that this is a good opportunity for beginners.
Especially, when I know that there are other more suitable, beginner-friendly, and cost-effective alternatives to starting an online business.

What is Breakaway Movement?
On the outside, Breakaway Movement looks like a platform designed to teach people how to start an online business, but in reality, it’s a multi-level marketing platform that’s all about converting you into a buyer and promoter of this opportunity.
The membership platform has a lot of content, but most of it is inspirational and designed to convince you to become a Kangen distributor, which means paying a ton of money upfront.
This is NOT the only platform that’s affiliated with Kangen. Digital Prosperity Movement operates in a very similar way to what you see here with Breakaway Movement.
They use marketing tactics to convince people in becoming distributors and active promoters of these water purifying machines by getting them to pay ridiculous amounts of money ($10,000).
I’m sure that SOME people can become profitable with Breakaway Movement, but the MAJORITY of those that join will end up wasting their hard-earned money.
According to a study done by the FTC, approximately 99% of MLM recruits end up losing money.
Is the Breakaway Movement a Pyramid Scheme?
No, it’s not a pyramid scheme. Breakaway Movement offers a bunch of educational content in exchange for a monthly membership fee, which means that you get something for your money.
By definition, a pyramid scheme is a business model that rewards its members for enrolling others into the scheme instead of giving them some kind of a product or service for their investment.
Even though people can get rewarded for enrolling others into Breakaway Movement, technically it’s not a pyramid because you are getting resources and training materials for your monthly investment.
Who are The Breakaway Movement Founders?
Breakaway Movement was founded by Amelia Whelan & Shana Samot. Two sisters that live in Hawaii, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Amelia defines herself as a health coach and CEO of Breakaway Movement.
According to this tread on Reddit, Amelia Whelan was a former member of the CEO Movement, which is another MLM promoting Kangen water filters.
There’s a whole bunch of MLM’s out there like Amway and Roayl Prestige. In order to be profitable, you have to be one of the first recruiters, because it allows you to earn from the efforts of those that you have recruited, the ones that they’ve invited, and so on.
That’s probably part of the reason for Amelia Whelan to leave CEO Movement and launch her own company. It enables her to earn from the efforts of everyone else that’s involved with the Breakaway Movement.
What’s Inside Breakaway Movement Membership?
The membership offers a wide range of training and educational material that you can take advantage of.
If you’re completely new to this, then I’m sure that you can learn a thing or two from all the content that’s inside. Here’s a breakdown of what you can get inside the Breakaway Movement.
Welcome Video Series
Introduction to the platform and instructions on how you can get started. These videos will help navigate you throughout the platform.
Enagic Videos
Here you will learn about Enagic, the business opportunity, and something called the ”trifecta” which you can achieve by buying the expensive water filtration machines, and a few other additional things.
There is a video inside that goes through Enagic’s compensation plan, and how it’s all structured.
Weekly Mastermind Community Calls
Every week, there are live calls with the founders of the Breakaway Movement, and all the ”leaders” that are high up in the earnings chain.
Every call is prerecorded so you can watch them at your own pace. They cover mindset training and go about convincing you that spending so much money on Enagic is a business investment that you will be able to earn back. Even though the statistics clearly state otherwise.
Offline Sales
This part is all about how to approach selling the Enagic opportunity as a whole when you’re out in the real world.
The training series explains how you should promote the lifestyle more than anything else, and if you take a closer look at the Breakaway Movement’s website, you will see that the entire platform has a ”live your best life” vibe.
How to Talk to Your Leads
This video dives deep into showing you how to communicate with prospects. The main idea is to present them with the opportunity to live a life of financial, time, and location freedom, by making it seem like you’re making more money than you can handle, with little to no work on your end.
Basically, they teach you how to sell the dream lifestyle, rather than an actual product or service that can be useful to them,
Law of Attraction
The law of attraction video series covers a wide range of topics, like how to get rid of all the negativity in your life, how to attract everything that you’ve ever wished for, and things of that nature.
Organic Lead Generation Through Social Media and Paid Ads
Here you will learn the basics of setting up social media pages, how to build a habit of posting daily, and what kind of posts you should add to your strategy. You will also learn how to run paid ad campaigns and drive traffic (web visitors) to a sales funnel designed to convert leads into sales.
Photo Editing
Learn how to edit photos and make them look professional for your social media posts. Making your photos visually appealing can increase engagement, which can lead to more leads and sales in the long run.
Breakaway Movement Compensation Plan
Breakaway Movement works with Enagic, and their compensation plan can be confusing.
That’s why I will break it down in a simple manner so that you can understand exactly what your earning potentials are, and why so many companies work with Enagic in the first place.
The first thing that you need to understand about Enagic’s compensation plan is that it has an 8 point commission system. It’s also known as the trifecta commission.
The higher you get in the system, the more money you earn from each water filtration machine that gets bought due to your efforts. When you make your first and second sale you’re rewarded with $340 for each one.
The next 3 sales that you make will earn you $680 each. On your eleventh consecutive sale, you’re upgraded to the next level, and now you will earn $1,020 per sale. At the 20th machine that gets sold, your earnings go up to $1,360 per item.
Reaching 50 sales will increase your earnings to $1,700 for each water filtration machine you sell. The next level is reached when you make 100 sales, and you will be making $2,040 on each machine.
The multi-level marketing aspect of this business comes with the fact that you can make indirect sales by getting those that you’ve recruited to make sales, which rewards you as well.
The amount of money that you make depends on the level that you’re currently at. At some point down the line, you will stop profiting from the recruiters of your recruits, and Enagic will give you bonus commissions instead.
MLM’s like Breakaway Movement and My Daily Choice have very confusing compensation plans. The problem comes when you can’t fully understand what you’re earning and how.
This means that you have to rely on the honesty and transparency of these companies, or you have to spend a significant amount of time just to fully understand their compensation plans.
How Much Does Breakaway Movement Cost?
The membership is $33.33/Month, but when you join, you will be encouraged to become a distributor of Enagic Kangen water machines, which means that you have to pay $10,000 and buy one for yourself. That’s the only way to take advantage of the business opportunity that Breakaway Movement offers inside the platform.
What if You Can’t Afford it?
Just like with many other MLM’s that have extremely high entry fees, you will be encouraged to borrow money from your local bank, ask your friends and family, etc.
In my opinion, if you can’t afford to pay for this business opportunity, the last thing that you should do is borrow money, especially when you take into consideration the amount of effort that you have to put into getting that money back.
If you’re good at high ticket selling, then you probably won’t have any problems with that, but for the average person with little to no experience, it may take a long time (if ever) before they manage to land their first sale.
If you want to start an online business, you can do that without investing a ton of cash, and without the added risks that come along with hefty investments such as this one.
Can You Get a Refund on the Breakaway Movement Membership?
No, there are no refunds for the membership of the Breakaway Movement. If you decide to get your money back for the water filtration machine purchase, you can do so within 10 days.
However, it has to be UNUSED, or you will be charged a restocking fee ($100). If a used machine is returned after the 10 day period, you will be charged a processing fee that ranges from $300 to $700. It’s all outlined on the Enagic store website.
What I Like About Breakaway Movement
1. There’s a High Earnings Potential IF You Know What You’re Doing. If you bypass all the hype and exaggeration that follows the Breakaway Movement business opportunity and approach this in a REALISTIC way, you may be able to understand if this is really for you or not.
2. If You’re Good at Selling You Can Make Money With Enagic. It’s all about selling expensive water filtration machines and getting people to buy them. If you can do that, then you can be profitable.
What I Don’t Like About Breakaway Movement
1. It’s Too Hyped Up. Way too many people that represent this opportunity, approach it like it’s this EASY way of making tons of money. It’s not nearly as simple as they make it look like, especially if you are a beginner with no prior experience with making money online, or selling things.
2. It’s Too Risky. Breakaway Movement is presented as a way for people to start their own online business. By presumption, this means that most people who do get involved with this opportunity are beginners. Risking that much money as a beginner, and investing it in something that may not work is very risky, and it can have devastating consequences for people who are struggling.
3. Breakaway Movement Promotes a Lifestyle. Which is fake, for the most part. I’ve been exposed to far too many online courses, platforms, and programs that SELL DREAMS. I know one when I see it. I’m not saying that the Kangen MLM business is not real. I’m only stating that Breakaway Movement is a platform that makes everything seem and look way too good to be true.
My Recommendation
My advice is to disregard everything that you’ve been convinced about Breakaway Movement and take a REALISTIC look at the entire thing.
Ask yourself the following questions. Can you sell expensive water filtration machines to others? Are you willing to learn how to do that?
Are you willing to invest and possibly lose $10,000 or more? If you are okay with the risks involved with Breakaway Movement, then you can approach this as a REAL way to create an online business.
If that doesn’t sound like something that you’d be willing to do, then you should take a look at this alternative.
It involves a simple blueprint that people are using right now to earn passive income online. Below, you will find out how to start a profitable online business that revolves around promoting other people’s products and services using Google as a medium.
