5 Ways To Get More Traffic on Your Blog

So, you want to get more traffic on your blog? That’s easy, but before we get into all that you should first ask yourself one simple question.

“What am I willing to sacrifice, more of my time, or my money?”

Once you have the answer to that question you can then figure out how to achieve your end goal.

This guide will focus more on the FREE side of things or in other words, I will be showing you the different ways of generating visits on your blog website, without having to pay for any advertisements whatsoever.
Getting traffic to your website

Here’s another one for you. Are you really interested in gaining visitors, or you would only like to see your bank account growing?

That was a trick question. As great as generating a lot of money online sound, in order to actually be able to achieve that, you need to prove that you bring VALUE to the table.

Just like in real life, the more valuable you are in your job, the higher your salary would be.

that’s only one of the things that you should do to get that traffic rolling.

I bestow to you the perfect guide and the top 5 ways that will show you how to get more traffic on your blog FREE of charge. Starting with…

1. Getting Ranked on the 1st Page of Google.

Search engine optimisation

You may or may not have heard of this, nevertheless, it’s quite important to mention because it will be the only thing that you need to learn in order to master the art of generating traffic for FREE.

It’s called Search Engine Optimisation. SEO is a topic that I cover more in my article “What Is SEO in Content Writing – 6 Best Kept Secrets for 2019“.

I would recommend you check that out because it’s packed with tons of value and I’m confident that it will be of some use to you.

By getting indexed or ranked, you will definitely gain a lot more exposure to your blog content which WILL lead to more traffic coming your way.

2. Forums – Use Them!

There are a lot of topics being discussed on various forum sites like Quora or Reddit.

So why not join a discussion that is relevant to your blog by showing your website to people with similar interests.

There is a way to actually do that without people marking you as a spammer. It is all teachable and quite easy to implement.

Again it revolves around the word VALUE. If you bring value to people everyone is going to love you. Example:

forum marketing

I have a blog that is about muscle gaining exercises.

If I go to reddit.com and find a thread about muscle building I would be able to get into a conversation with like-minded people who are interested in what I’m blogging about.

Thus I will be able to recommend them a website where they can find a lot of information about that certain topic “muscle building”.

See where I’m going with this?

By doing this I am being able to provide value for everyone interested and at the same time, I am subtly promoting my website. That is how you do forum marketing.

3. Video Marketing

Video marketing plays quite a big role here because if we are being completely honest, nowadays everything is all about the visual appeal.

When someone goes to your website you have only a few precious moments to create a great first impression.

This will most likely determine whether or not the user will stay on your website.
youtube videos

What better way to get people’s attention than implementing a video within your content?

Fun fact, did you know that Youtube is the second biggest search engine after Google?

When you watch a video all of your senses are being triggered and you naturally get more excited.

Even if you are old school and prefer a good old read, this doesn’t change the fact that youtube can be an incredibly large source of traffic for you and your website.

All that you need to do is create videos and upload them.

4. Your Website’s Design Matters

As I mentioned already, you have a limited amount of time to create that first impression when a new visitor comes to your website.

Those things matter in the online world and depending on your website’s layout, you can influence people on a subconscious level.
statistics

Here’s another example. Imagine that you walk in a store to buy shoes but that place is a complete mess.

The walls are moldy, the floor creaks when you step on it and the shoe stand is all rusty.

Would you have second thoughts about buying from this store?  Of course, you would.

The same principle applies to your website. Why should it be any different?

5.Captivating & Value Rich Content

Last but definitely not least, is the way you present your articles and posts.

So now we know that we need to capture the user’s attention, but how exactly are we going to keep them interested and more importantly, converting them into buying customers.

There is only one word for that. VALUE, it’s as simple as that. How can we get someone to trust us?

Tell them something that they don’t know.

Give them an answer to a question that they’ve been looking for.

Provide them with help and assistance when they need to. Those are just some of the ways to build relationships with your audience.

There is a saying that goes something like this: “If you help enough people to get what they want, you will get what you want”.

That’s why it’s essential to provide people with value. Remember, you are serving the people and if they are happy, they will make YOU happy.

  2. I have been thinking about using Quora to drive traffic to my blog, but after reading about how a member got banned from the forum due to excessive posting – I am guessing with links to his website or affiliate offers – I am a bit wary. What’s the best practice to navigate around such forum when they are for sure to be filled with other affiliate bloggers who all want to do the same thing. It seems like there’s a lot of competition even within the discussion area.

    • The competition can be quite fierce, that’s true. That’s why I would suggest to try out forum marketing using a simple strategy. Join a discussion regarding affiliate marketing for example and provide some kind of value. Be helpful. If you know the answer to someone’s query, then tell it, let them now. If you are helpful within the forums the chances of being banned because you’ve mentioned your website or an affiliate link here and there are quite slim. Try it out and see how it goes.

  3. I really liked the layout of your website, It is simple and very easy to read.

You also hit the nail when saying it is all about the value that we can give to others and not just doing it for the money and yes, it might take some time to see the results as far as money goes but if there is consistency and follow the steps you mention in order to succed, it is just a matter of time to start seeing good results.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
