Audiobook Income Academy Review [Aia 2.0]

Welcome to my Audiobook Income Academy review. The Mikkelsen twins have released their 2.0 version of the ghost audio passive income course. The golden question is, can they really help you make money online, or is this just another scam?

Here’s what you need to know. This is a very expensive course, which means that you can easily stumble on biased and one-sided reviews claiming how great Aia 2.0 is without providing you with any real value that you can use in the buy or not decision.

That’s why I would like to point out that I’m not affiliated with Audiobook Income Academy in any way or form, so don’t expect a thousand low-quality ebooks as an ethical bribe for joining through my links.

I’m going to cover everything that you need to know about Aia 2.0, the Mikkelsen twins, and their ghost audio passive income business model. By the time you’re done here, you will know EXACTLY what you’re getting into.

Summary: Audiobook Income Academy (AIA 2.0) is a coaching program designed to teach complete beginners how to earn passive income online through a method known as ghost audio.

You will learn how to publish audiobooks, e-books, printed books, and how to outsource some of the work by hiring ghostwriters, narrators, artists for your book covers, etc.

They focus on showing you how to leverage Amazon as your main platform for exposure and earnings.

If you’re looking to become a publisher on Amazon, then you will probably learn some useful things inside, and you will get access to a community with other publishers, which is definitely a plus.

What you need to understand is that this is an investment with NO guarantees.

You may become successful with this business model, but you also run the risk of losing a lot of money without achieving anything.

If you are a beginner looking to earn passive income online, I think that there are other, more suitable, and cost-effective alternatives that don’t require spending thousands upfront for something that may not even work out that well for you in the first place.

What is Audiobook Income Academy?

Aia 2.0 or Audiobook Income Academy is an online business model for passive income generation that’s all about teaching people how to become publishers on Amazon. There’s is a lot of controversy around this course.

Some people claim that it’s a straight-up scam and say that the Mikkelsen Twins have been banned from Amazon more than once, while others claim that this program has helped them achieve financial freedom.

In a world, filled with fake positive reviews you can never truly know which ones are genuine. After spending countless hours researching, trying to figure out everything about Audiobook Income Academy and the Mikkelsen Twins, here’s what I was able to dig up.

The term ghost audio is something that the two brothers came up with to attract more people into their free webinar training on the publishinglife.com website.

You can also see some exaggerated claims of easy money making with little to no work whatsoever on their landing page.

audiobook income academy review hype

This is all marketing hype to attract people’s interest and to get them to watch their webinar. At some point during the free training, they mention that in order to succeed with this business model, you will have to work hard. I guess the method to ”easily generate $5K – $20K per month” is not so easy after all.

Let’s put aside that little contradiction here and break down the ghost audio business model.

What is Ghost Audio?

Ghost audio is what the Mikkelsen twins refer to when you’re using ghostwriters to create content for you, then you publish it on platforms like Amazon as your own, in the form of eBooks, audiobooks, and physical versions of these books.

You outsource the work and earn passive income at the same time. That’s the process that the Mikkelsen twins call ghost audio.

Is Audiobook Income Academy by The Mikkelsen Twins a Scam?

audiobook income academy review legit or not

No, it’s not a scam. The Mikkelsen twins have a REAL platform designed to help people get into the publishing business. Even though I think that Aia 2.0 is overpriced, I can’t go as far as labeling it a scam.

According to some forum discussions, these guys have been banned multiple times as publishers from Amazon, Audible, and ACX.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, because now they have a BETTER understanding of what works, and what doesn’t. This means that the Mikkelsen twins can teach their members what to do in order to avoid getting banned.

On the downside of things, they have been accused of running shady, black hat techniques, which is why they were banned in the first place.

However, their updated version of Audiobook Income Academy is supposed to be better, with more legit and straightforward ways of using these publishing platforms.

I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, but if the Mikkelsen twins were successful BECAUSE of their shady tactics, I don’t think that investing in Aia 2.0 is the right solution for those that are looking to earn sustainable, long term passive income from the internet.

Who Created Audio Income Academy?

Rasmus and Cristian Mikkelsen are twins that grew up in New Jersey. They didn’t like the traditional lifestyle that having a 9 to 5 job would give them, so they decided to do something about it. Ever since changing their degree in college from health to business, they’ve been obsessed with becoming entrepreneurs.

In the beginning, they worked and saved money so that they can buy expensive programs and courses that could teach them how to become successful online. Rasmus was experimenting with Shopify dropshipping, while Christian was doing book publishing.

A lot of time had to pass before they saw some success. Christian even got scammed for $3,000. He paid someone to take care of the writing, narrating, and book cover for his publishing business. The guy just took his money without doing any of the work.

Now, they have a course called Audio Income Academy, which is all about teaching others how to get started in the digital book publishing business and earning passive income online.

audiobook income academy review youtube channel

The Mikkelsen twins have a Youtube channel with 27K subscribers. Over there, they talk about publishing books on Amazon, starting an online business, and more.

Yes, you can see an article about them on the Forbes website, which is a great achievement on this own, but it probably doesn’t mean what you think.

The thing is that everyone can PAY to be featured on Forbes, which is great for publicity and a good marketing tactic for gaining exposure on their end.

What’s Inside Audio Income Academy?

Inside Aia 2.0 you will get access to a 7 module course, designed to teach you everything you need to know about this online business and how to become profitable by publishing on Amazon.

There is an additional course that shows you how to grow outside of Amazon and approach other platforms for more exposure, and more revenue.

On top of that, you will get access to a private Facebook group where all other members get to hand out, four 1 on 1 calls with an Aia 2.0 coach, weekly live group sessions every Monday, a bunch of Done for You resources, and 21 templates.

Let’s breakdown each module, and see what get’s covered inside Audio Income Academy.

Module 1: The Transformation

Module one starts with an overview of everything that you will be learning inside Aia 2.0 from a bird’s eye view. Followed right after that is mindset training to help prepare you mentally for what’s about to come.

You will be learning how to build an online business, which means that you will have to start forming new daily habits that will push you in the right direction.

This means that, in a sense, you will have to forge a new identity, which is what lesson 3 of module one is all about.

The final lesson will give you a to-do list for week one of your new online business launch.

Module 2: Getting Started With Your Online Publishing Business

There are 8 lessons in this module. The first one is all about teaching you the fundamentals of an online publishing business.

It’s designed to equip you with a clear understanding of how the entire thing works. Establishing a solid foundation is an important first step.

You will also learn about the numbers that you should expect to be generating in the coming months, how to find the right first topic for your first book and how the Mikkelsen twins’ journey looked like in the beginning.

Then, you will get introduced to a couple of methods that you can implement to speed up your own journey to success, followed by a couple of lessons on managing your cash and the basics of accounting.

Module 3: Creating Your First Book

There are 7 lessons here that cover everything that you need to know about your potential customers, how to build your publishing brand, mastering the art of creating an outline for a good book, choosing a winning title, how to be a good copywriter, and how to acquire ghostwritten books.

All of these things are essential for your online success as a publisher on Amazon. FYI, being a publisher is one of the many different ways to make money with Amazon, and if that’s what you’re after, then you can check some alternative ways to take advantage of the platform, such as Amazon Mechanical Turk.

Audio Income Academy is focused entirely on book publishing. Even if you’ve never written anything in your life, you will learn how to outsource a big chunk of the hard work.

Module 4: Passive Systems & Automations

This module is all about outsourcing and automating your marketing promotion by leveraging the power of email.

You will get introduced to the essentials of building an email list, enticing your readers, and you will get some done for you email sequences that you can start sending out to your list.

It’s important to remember that every member of this course will get access to the same email marketing copy as you.

That’s why it’s probably better for your long term earnings if you tweaked the emails a bit. The final lesson in this module is all about writing great descriptions that get people hooked up, followed by a to-do list.

Module 5: Launch Week

Everything so far has been prepping you for this moment. It’s time to launch your books online. Before you do that, you have to do a manual quality control check, and ensure that everything is in order for a successful launch.

Putting it all online is just the first step. After you’ve done that, it’s time to build yourself as an authority in the industry, which is what lesson 5 of this module is all about.

Module 6: Audiobook Conversion and Amazon Ads

In this module, you will learn how to target specific keywords and optimize your ads properly before you launch your first campaign.

If you wait around for people to find your books on Amazon, it can be a long time before you generate any sales.

That’s why you have to be prepared to spend money on ads. That’s what the first half of this module is all about, followed by converting your ebooks into audiobooks.

This can give you an additional way to earn passive income online and provide your potential clients with more ways to consume your content.

Lesson six is an introduction to ACX, which is an audiobook editing platform powered by Amazon. Then you will learn about getting narrated, Audible reviews, and how to put all of that into actionable steps towards your online success.

Module 7: Next Level Publishing

This module is all about scaling and growing your business. The first lesson is all about showing you the different ways of expanding and covering everything that you will learn in module 7.

Lesson two covers everything that you need to know about going omnipresent and establishing a presence on multiple platforms at the same time.

Lesson three is about global print publishing with IngramSpark, and lessons four through eight cover all the different ways that you can scale your business, like Facebook ads, website creation, and lead magnets.

How Much Does Audiobook Income Academy Cost?

audiobook income academy review price

It used to be $997, but the Mikkelsen twins have increased Aia’s price to $1,997 or 3 separate installments of $797.

If you decide to pay in 3 consecutive months, then your investment will increase to $2,391. Aia 2.0 also encourages you to apply for PayPal credit if you can’t afford to pay for your membership at this time.

Can You Get a Refund on Audiobook Income Academy?

Yes, you have a 24 hour no questions asked money-back guarantee. After the 24 hour period has passed, you have 180 days to earn a profit, or you can get your money back. Audiobook Income Academy 2.0 offers a ”profit guarantee” under the following circumstances:

1. You Have to Watch all Video Lessons From Week 1 to 6.

2. You Have to Attend two 1 on 1 Coaching Calls.

3. You Need to Publish 1 Audiobook and Have it Live on Audible.

You have 180 days to do all of that, and if you haven’t earned at least $5,000 by then, the Mikkelsen twins will give you your money back plus an additional $1,000.

What I Like About Audiobook Income Academy

audiobook income academy review pros vs cons

1. There’s a Community With Like-Minded Individuals. This can definitely help you along the way, and give you the opportunity to connect with others that share the same goal as you.

2. Impressive Refund Policy
. It offers a lot of benefits, such as a thousand bucks if you do everything required on your end and you still fail to make any money online with the ghost audio business model.

What I Don’t Like About Audiobook Income Academy

1. The Course is Pricey. Since Aia 2.0 is promoted as a course that’s best suited for beginners, most people that are just getting started will probably be hesitant to invest thousands of dollars into it. Especially when you take into consideration that there are many alternatives for starting an online business that do not cost as much.

2. You Have to Spend Even More Money on Paid Ads and Outsourcing
. Your expenses can add up quickly, which means that you need to spend a large amount of money to even get the chance to make this thing work for you.

3. The Mikkelsen Twins Have a Shady Reputation
. This means that either they have competitors trying to bad mouth them, or that they’ve been involved in shady practices in the past.

My Recommendation

If you can afford to invest a couple of thousand for Audiobook Income Academy’s training program and then maintain a few hundred each month for things like running adds, hiring ghostwriters, narrators, and to outsource a lot of the work that needs to be done, then maybe you can benefit from Aia 2.0.

However, in my opinion, the risks outweigh the earnings potential. Investing a ton of money for something that may not even work in the first place, seems like a risky move even with the great refund policy that the Mikkelsen twins have in place.

If you’re 100% certain that you want to start an Amazon book publishing business online, and you don’t mind investing thousands of dollars upfront, then go for it.

I just don’t think that this is the RIGHT opportunity for beginners to start an online passive income generation business because there are other, high quality, and not so costly alternatives.

If that sounds interesting, then you should see how these people are banking profits using a simple yet incredibly effective blueprint that most neglect and lose out on that opportunity forever. Don’t be most people.

  1. I now understand why the big push to sign up for AIA immediately after the sales video. I didn’t, and discovered this coaching/course, step-by-step, was taken straight from the Amazon Audible website, perhaps with a few additional bells and whistles.
Skepticism is warranted whenever there are incentives and a big push to “BUY NOW”!

    • These twin guys from Publishing Life pretend to be friendly and helpful. My experience is very different. About 2 months ago I bought the course for nearly $1500. I studied every night after my full time job, I spent every weekend learning and arranging all the necessary stuff in order to publish my first book, and I didn’t really bother the customer support much because I wanted to get through the very information overloaded course. I got really frustrated and lost and I voiced my frustrations to the customer support. Just after 2 emails back and forth, I got threatened that criticizing the content of the course is not allowed. After my next normal email, the customer service guy cut me off and refunded my money. No explanation other than I don’t fit to the culture. Nobody asked me why I was so frustrated, nobody gave me a fair warning, our loving Twins just cut me off after all the work I have done. I wasn’t born yesterday and I can see clearly through their business model. But I wanted to learn how to publish a book and maybe change a couple of things in my life as a result, so I gave it an honest go. There is a lot of nice pep talk, but the reality is very different. When they lure people into buying their course, they say that they will do anything to make the member succeed. I have worked so hard on this for 8 weeks straight and only one time I voiced my frustrations, without any bad language or anything like that, and our loving Twins decided to cut me off, without a chance to explain why I was so frustrated with the course. If you think that this course is just a step by step manual on self publishing, and that you can easily do it if you are a single mom with 3 kids, think again. But that is the business model of so many courses out there from day trading to self publishing. These twins really disappointed me great deal, and not because of their fame driven fake attitude, but how cold blooded they are if someone simply doesn’t fit into their little click. I bot the course, I have worked hard on it for 8 weeks and because of my first frustration with the content of the course, they found me inconvenient and closed my account, with a really weak and lame BS explanation via their customer support guy. They know exactly how they are playing the odds and large numbers. I do not wish them well because they hit me below the waste line and I hope people will not be fooled like I was. I just hope I can find another resource and continue.

    • Hello, thank you for your comment! I am hesitant about buying because of the “pushyness” of it all. May I ask where you found this step-by-step guide on the Amazon Audible website?

  2. I don’t recommend this course. I’m really upset that their ads kept saying “you don’t need a lot of money to get started. That’s rubbish. I’m on week 7 of the videos and every week there’s another $1000 suggested spend.
What did they think was going to happen, drawing people that DON’T have a lot to spend through their advertisements. And that whole week 1 mindset module is bs. It’s a set up to turn around and blame the student and say “you didn’t want it enough” “you didn’t take this seriously enough” “you didn’t sacrifice enough”. When the reality from where I stand is that they sold a dream of a publishing business which could earn passive income, and what they deliver is a process of building a brand with a community and followers etc…… I already have a brand and a niche etc. I just wanted something to make some money on the side.

And there is no support. Don’t give a crap about your feelings. The coaching calls are short and can’t possibly handle all the questions that come up.

I will not run my businesses like these two. People first. Treat people right, earn their respect and loyalty, offer a fair product and price. So frustrated that only opportunists seem to make it in this world
