Zazzle Review Summary
Product Name: Zazzle
Product Price: Free
Product Owners: Robert, Bobby, and Jeffrey Beaver
Product Type: Print On Demand
Overall Score: 60/100
Summary: Zazzle is a digital marketplace for individuals with design skills that are looking to sell their work and earn money online.
Big eCommerce brands and start ups can take advantage of the numerous artwork of people.
You can also earn money with Zazzle when you promote the program to others, or by leveraging the affiliate program that some product owners have set up within the platform.
Both buyers and sellers can profit from this marketplace. If you are interested in starting your own Print On Demand business online, then this program can be suitable for you.
However, I can’t recommend this platform to beginners, because of its complexity. If that’s you, there are other ways to leverage your passion, hobbies, or interests and earn at the same time.
What is Zazzle?
Zazzle is a platform that connects designers, affiliates, and product makers. It’s an ecosystem that allows you to interact with people that have similar interests as you.
To help you get a better understanding of the platform, let’s break down everything that you can do inside and the different roles that you can take.
What is a Designer?
To put it simply, a designer is someone that creates unique designs and puts them on various items like mugs, shirts, bags, etc.
When you’re done, all you have to do is submit your work, and Zazzle will take care of everything else including manufacturing, printing, and distribution.
You can sell your work within the platform itself, which allows you to take advantage of the audience that’s already browsing and looking for things to buy on that website.
What is an Affiliate?
Affiliates can sell and promote other people’s products and earn a commission for each sale they generate. Even if you are a product designer, you can still earn affiliate income by promoting your own stuff.
It’s free to sign up as a promoter of a high quality affiliate marketing program and the commissions that you can earn depend on the percentage that the product owner has put in place.
One of the things you can do as an affiliate of Zazzle is to take advantage of their referral program. It rewards you with $25 each time you invite someone through your link.
As a bonus, you and your refferals will have access to different discounts, such as 60% off cards and invites, 20% off on orders of $25 or beyond, and a coupon code worth $25 that you can use.
What is a Product Maker?
Product makers create their own products and sell them within the platform. If you decide to go that route, you will be responsible for your own manufacturing, product creation, shipping, and handling.
This is definitely one of the most hands on roles that you can take but if you know what you’re doing, you can easily start earning income.
Is Zazzle a Scam?
Zazzle is not a scam. In my opinion, It’s a trustworthy platform that can unlock a bunch of different ways to make money online. Naturally, you will have to invest some time and resources in this venture.
That’s why I can only recommend this website for people that are not afraid to put in the work that it requires to succeed.
In my opinion, only those that are truly passionate about what they are doing will be able to reap the rewards that come with devoting their time to this.
I also think that Zazzle is not fully suited for beginners that know nothing about making money online.
That’s why I think that there are better ways for people with no prior experience to start a profitable online business.
Who Created Zazzle?
The platform was founded by Robert, Bobby, and Jeffrey Beaver in 2005. According to Wikipedia, the company was funded by Google investors with an initial investment of $16 million. In 2007, they got another funding of $30 million from the same people.
Throughout the years, the company has been recognized as one of the best ways for starting an online business by TechCrunch.
It’s safe to say that the founders of this website have devoted a lot of time, energy, and effort to this venture.
Zazzle Product Line
They have a wide range of products, from invitation cards, clothing, and accessories, to wedding products, electronics, and more. There is no limit to the products you can pick and put your designs on.
A lot of people choose to go with the business cards niche and create different business cards. That’s why you can see a lot of pre designed templates and a custom card designing tool.
What’s Inside Zazzle as a Seller With a Store?
As a seller on Zazzle, you will have the following options that you can effectively implement to increase your presence and showcase your work:
Option #1 – Customize & Adjust your Designs. You can create a plethora of different things as a designer. All you have to do is use your imagination and start creating. The tools offered inside can take care of everything else for you.
Option #2 – Submit Your Own Products & Sell Them. You can leverage the audience that Zazzle has to sell your own products.
Option #3 – Promote Other People’s Products. All you have to do is share your unique affiliate link with others and when they buy, you earn a percentage of the sale as a commission.
How Much Does Zazzle Pay?
If you are a creator, then you can expect to earn about 70% of what you manage to sell. The other 30% goes to Zazzle in exchange for offering you the ability to leverage the platform and sell your own stuff. There’s also a shipping service fee.
If you decide to promote other people’s products, the commissions that you earn are determined by the seller. It can be anywhere from 15% of the initial product’s price, to 50% or more.
Is There a Better Alternative?
Zazzle is a Print On Demand platform that offers ways for creators to showcase their work. There are many other similar platforms, such as Etsy that offer competitive prices and alternative ways to get started with Print On Demand.
However, my favorite business model is still affiliate marketing simply because it allows you to take advantage of what you’re already interested in doing and monetize your passions at the same time.
Using the above mentioned business model and the 4 step system that you will see on the next page, I was able to earn as much as $1K from a SINGLE product sale that’s not even mine.
